Considering all that, the article you’re reading through at the moment has been created in the hope of giving you some great ideas that could vastly improve the overall aesthetics of your room. Give it a lick of paint
It might sound basic, but you’ll be surprised by how much difference a lick of paint can make to your boring bed. Whether you head down to your local DIY shop or purchase it online, you should be able to get some really cool colours for little investment. Personally, when I did this last year, I found that darker shades of blue, red and green seemed to work best, but obviously this will depend upon the other colours in your room, and the look you’re trying to achieve.
Decorate the headboard
If you love nothing more than engaging in some arts and crafts from time to time, decorating your headboard should be an exciting experience. You can let your creativity run wild here, but it’s wise to get hold of some carvings and add them using glue gun sticks. This will limit the amount of spillage you cause, and could help to keep prices down. If you live by the sea, perhaps you should head out with the kids and find some cool shells? These can appear very interesting when placed on your headboard, or around the bed.
Get some smart bedding
While you don’t want to spend hundreds on real silk or velvet sheets, opting to put your hand in your pocket is a wise move when it comes to bedding. You can get some really stylish quilt covers these days online or from high street retailers, and so you should spend some time browsing until you find the ideal once. Alternatively, you could make your own if you know how to use a needle and cotton. This would allow you to completely customise your room.
Using lighting effectively
You might think that lighting would have little to do with the overall aesthetics of your bed, but this couldn’t be further from the truth. Some people like to have a single fitting above the bed in the middle of their room, and while this does look good, it’s usually smaller lamps around the outside that create the best atmosphere. You might even like to look at some funky products like lava lamps to really shake things up.
So there you have it my creative friends. You now know how to improve the look of your bed using simple techniques that don’t cost a fortune. You can thank me later!
