We love the look and feel of wallpaper on our home’s walls. After all, wallpaper has evolved to become one of the most used elements in interior design. Because of this, many have become creative as to how to adapt it to their home. Using it in unexpected ways can be stylish, fun and unique – adding a touch of chic to your home.
Here are some ideas to inspire your own wallpaper projects!
1. The obvious way – the walls!
Wallpapers, as the name clearly states, are meant to decorate walls and they do an impeccable job at that. With time, wallpapers companies have developed a massive variety of colors, patterns, textures and brightness. You can get any type of wallpaper design you want, from cheap wallpaper purchased online to incredibly expensive designer wallpaper [the likes of Louis Vuitton]. Whatever image you had in mind, you will be able to find it, which means you can get as creative as you want!

2. To cover furniture
This is a fun way to accent your furniture and make it look unique. No one else will have the same dresser as you. Plus, you can pick any wallpaper design of your choosing, so you can ensure it fits perfectly with the look & feel of your room. Just don’t over-coordinate: using the same wallpaper for your furniture and walls can be dizzying. Aesthetically, you want to ensure that they work seamlessly together and don’t clash.
3. As accents
Using wallpaper as an accent is a great way to add beautiful focal points to your home. As a unique interior design feature, you can be as creative as you would like. For example, by placing wallpaper between steps on stairs, you will add a fun element to an otherwise empty spot. These small accents look classy and attractive to the eye, which will automatically be drawn to it.
4. Stand-alone walls and dividers
If your home has a stand-alone wall that separates different sections of the house, wallpapering it while using paint on other walls can be an attractive look. Alternatively, you can create a similar effect by placing wallpaper on only one wall, and painting the rest. It will become a focal point that will immediately grab the eyes’ attention.
5. The closet
This is unfortunately one of the least-used applications for wallpaper and it’s a huge shame! There’s no reason why your closet shouldn’t get the same treatment as your other rooms, and adding a touch of wallpaper on the closet walls will bring your closet to a whole new level. It’s an attractive feature that works well with your clothes and shoes. Not to mention, you will have the most chic closet of all your friends!
