Buy Removable Wallpaper
It sounds horrible but have faith because removable wallpaper is a great alternative if you have to decorate on a budget. For one thing, you can use it more than once, which is fantastic. If you live in an apartment, it is more than likely that you are not going to live there forever. If you have to move out for whatever reason, all you need to do is apply it to the walls and you are set for another term. Plus, the options are not limited, so there is a huge range of choice for you to choose from.
Do A Bit Of DIY
If you do see something you like but don’t have the cash, try and recreate yourself. All you need are the materials and some basic tools. Of course, it doesn’t have to look perfect if you don’t want it to. For one thing, you are not trying to sell it on as you just want to use it to decorate. As long as it looks the part in your eyes, you have created a brilliant piece to grace your new apartment.
Doing it yourself also adds a lot of your personality and character that is great to have when you are decorating. It is also remarkably difficult to recreate with generic pieces.
Add a Couple Of Mirrors
You don’t need to go over the top. In fact, you should keep the mirrors to a minimum of one or two in strategic places. But, you should have them. They don’t cost a lot of money, and they add a lot of value to your apartment. They make the apartment look bigger by reflecting the light and adding another dimension to the room. The problem with apartments is the fact that they are small to begin with, so this is an essential technique.
Add Artwork
Obviously, if you are on a budget, you won’t be able to afford a Monet or a Rembrandt. To be honest, not many people can! But, that doesn’t mean you can’t find cheap artwork that will transform your apartment. Art prints at Printfinders.com are a great example because they are cheap, but they are also incredibly stylish. You can even create your own if you have the time or the inclination to do so. It depends on the style and tone you are trying to set.
Remember, you don’t have to sacrifice quality when you are decorating on a budget.
