These Are My Fabulous Ideas for Keeping Refreshed This Summer
Monday, August 03, 2015
As much as I adore the sunshine I realise the need to stay refreshed in the summer. So I came up with these awesome ideas that you should use this summer.
Air Conditioning
The easiest way to stay refreshed over the summer is through air conditioning. This will help to cool the home down and leave you relaxed and comfortable. If you haven’t used it for a while, you might need to call an AC repair team. We found that after several months of not being used our unit was temperamental. So make sure yours is working properly. If you don’t have any air conditioning, you might think about getting some installed.
Go Swimming
What better way to cool off when it’s hot than to go for a dip. Now, I like to pop up to the local pool that's just up the road. But you might have a pool in your backyard already, in which case you’re laughing. Or you might think about getting one installed this summer. Whatever your option is, you need to make sure you go swimming on a regular basis. It cools you down, refreshes you, and keeps you fit.
Drink Plenty of Water
It’s vital in the summer to try to keep hydrated as much as you can. I like to drink the recommended two to three liters of water per day anyway. But in the summer I often consume more than this. You need to make sure the kids have plenty of fluid too. A good tip that I use is to pre-fill bottles the night before and stick them in the fridge or freezer overnight. This way you have cold bottles you can enjoy all through the day. Do some more in the morning too, so by the time the old ones run out the new ones will be cold.
Air the House
One of the things I’ve found to be highly effective as well is airing my home. What I do is I go around the house, and I open all the windows and doors. This allows cool air to seep in and keep the house cool. While we’re all outside having a great time the house is gradually cooling down. It means that by the evening when everyone’s back inside the house is a good temperature. Make sure you do this as it’s easy and should only take a few minutes.
Don’t Spend Too Long in the Sun
I love sunbathing so much that I used to spend all day out in the sun. But I soon realised this wasn’t good for me. By the time evening rolled around I felt light-headed, weak and not very well. I’d have to go have a lie down due to dehydration or heatstroke. This kind of put a dampener on the whole experience. So I realised I needed to not spend as much time in the sun. Try to break up the time you spend in the heat. Pop indoors or go swimming for a while to break up your exposure to the heat.
I love the summer and the hot weather. But we all know that it can be a pain if it gets too hot. These are some of the methods I use each summer to keep cool. I’ve been doing these things for years, and they work brilliantly. So try out some of these ideas and let me know what you think!
